BEING A WOMAN

Deprived for ages,
Now we doubt our own potential.

Abused for aeons,
Now we are ashamed of our own self.

Captivated in four walls,
Now we are afraid of soaring high.

Trodden on the known,
Now we are scared of the new & unknown.

Kept in the dark,
Now our eyes are dazzled by the light.

Time may heal the wounds,
But will the scars vanish?

  1. Deprived for ages,
Now we realize our own potential.

    Abused for eons,
Now we define our dignified self.

    Captivated in four walls,
    Now we are soaring high.

    Trodden on the known,
Now we are braving the new & unknown.

    Kept in the dark,
Now we dazzle the light with our eyes.

    Time may heal the wounds,
But WE will make the scars vanish!

A little positivity on the Women's day :)

  3. Awesome is the word!! Both these perspectives are quite apparent. There are certain sections in the society which may make you feel the way u do and then, there are also this other section that surely justifies what he commented. Nothing is black or white. And ya, the intensity is narrowing. Today is certainly different from yesterday (read yesteryears) and tomorrow, as a corollary, will definitely be better than today. :-)

No doubt! Have never read such a lovely blog. You have kept me tuned totally to your posts. Great writing. Love the posts.

Like your perspective in this case. Prayers that your thoughts have an impact on many! :)

The last two lines stand out. Extra ordinary stuff that. They rock even when they are seen in isolation.

The last two lines appear apt to many situations. Well it can relate my current situation to the last two lines.

    Respect++

    Bows down! :)

  9. Nicely put! Some very deep rooted social dogmatic shackles. Things are changing though...
